Job Summary: Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School seeks a School-based Clinical Counselor for the 2010-11 school year. The candidate will provide mental-health counseling to Special Education students and general education students working closely with the school’s multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Part time LCSW-C / LICSW / LCPC - Fallsgrove/Rockville Synagogue Liaison

Candidate will be an experienced, organized professional with strong clinical skills to represent JSSA in area synagogues in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Consult with rabbis, staff, and congregants about interpersonal and organizational issues. Provide outreach, assessments, short term counseling, workshops, and referrals to JSSA and community resources.Extensive in-house continuing education provided free of charge.

Performs a range of professional counseling services geared to the child/adolescent and/or adult patient population. Interviews patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress. Communicates with patients based on an understanding of the cognitive and developmental needs of adult patients. Maintains up-to-date documentation and knowledge of patient’s progress.
