Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners   MD Board of Social Work Examiners 4201 Patterson Ave. Baltimore , MD 21215-2299   (410) 764-4788 http://www.dhmh.state.md.us/bswe   Licensure Renewal Summary (for more information, please visit the MD BSWE website)   As of July 1, 2004, the MD BSWE has adopted new continuing education requirements for supervisors.  Please see our September/October newsletter for a detailed discussion.   All licenses are active for two years and expire on October 31st.  For license renewal, the Board requires 40 continuing education credit hours, of which at least 3 hours must be earned in ethics and professional conduct, including boundary issues.  Licensees are not required to submit the documentation of the continuing education credit hours at the time of renewal.  A licensee should keep his/her continuing education documentation for at least one year beyond the expiration date.
