3.0 Hours of Continuing Education is Offered

This training will provide an overview of Gandhi’s contributions to society as a humble individual prepared to experiment with the very foundation of his consciousness. His message is timeless and just as appropriate to the difficulties we face today as it was in his own time.

Srimati Karuna, the Director of the Gandhi Memorial Center in Washington DC, will speak about Gandhi’s life, the challenges he faced and the contributions he made in the face of those challenges. Dr. Karen Shanor will discuss the neurology of relevant aspects of our program, such as: awe, emotional regulation, judgment, resilience, spirituality and meditation. Dr. David Freeman will then lead a series of discussions on how psychologists, as reflective change agents, might learn from Gandhi’s example. As small groups we will discuss how each of us can best use what we learned in the workshop in our personal and professional lives.

This workshop has been approved for 3.0 contact hours of continuing education credit by NASW DC Metro. Through a partnership with DCPA, NASW DC Metro Chapter members receive a discount on workshop registration.  Please direct all inquiries to DCPA
