Dear NASW DC Metro Chapter Members,

As of June 28, 2019,  I will be leaving my position with NASW. While I’m excited about new professional endeavors, it is sad to be saying goodbye to an amazing organization and membership. I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed our time working together and how much I have valued the opportunities of getting to know many of you around DC and the surrounding community. I will have fond memories of the rich experiences, fun times (conferences, social networking, chapter committees), and learning opportunities over the years.

Moving forward, be reassured that the transition will go as smoothly as possible and that membership services will continue during this time. NASW DC Metro Chapter has a board of directors committed to serving our membership, as well as the guidance of our national office who will assist and provide oversight so that best decisions are made to serve the members of DC Metro Chapter.

As is the case every year, the DC Metro Chapter will begin seeking candidates to serve on our Chapter Board of Directors for the 2019-2020 program year. During this time of transition for the chapter, we will need all of our strong social work leaders to step up to serve. Please look over the position descriptions which will be forthcoming and contact our offices at contact.naswdc@socialworkers.org if you are interested.

It has been an honor working with each of you. I will cherish my experience as the Executive Director of NASW DC Metro Chapter and I look forward to working with you in my remaining time in this role.

Warmest Regards,

Michael Francum, MSW, ACSW
Outgoing Executive Director, DC Metro
